Dalam rongga bisu

Aku, di antara orang-orang lainnya

hanyut dalam kesunyian

 

Kutempelkan telingaku ke sebuah guratan terang

untuk mendengar mereka tak bersuara

Hanya gerak-berik berkerut-kerut

bergetar mengikuti mata dan bibir mereka

kuduga mereka sedang merapal mantra pertaubatan

atau proklamasi

 

Kenangan melambat dalam ketulian total

tembok hitam meninggi

tepian sungai berselimut kabut

pembuluh darah mereka pecah

patung-patung lilin

menghapus api hitam dari mata mereka

 

Melalui tembok kuno yang kedap suara

dan ketulian parah hari-hari ini

kami memandang satu sama lain

semakin sering kami menyeru

semakin jauh kami terpisah

 

Kau dan aku

saling pandang

hanyut dalam kecepatan kilat

kita memukuli ruang hampa di depan kita.

Drifting in Silence

 

In a mute cavity

I

am drifting in silence among others

 

I press my ear to the bright outline

to overhear them in vain

only trembling contorted gestures

based on their eyes and lips

I assay it’s either repentance

or proclamation

 

Memories slow in total deafness

a black wall rises up

the riverbanks fill with fog

their arteries snap

the wax figures

wipe black fire from their eyes

 

With an ancient soundproof wall

and today’s profound deafness

we see each other through them

the more we call out

the farther we are apart

 

Looking at each other

You and I

drifting in lightning speed

we pound on empty space before us.

Im trôi

 

Trong hốc lặng

tôi

im trôi với bao người

 

Áp tai vào đường viền sáng

Lén nghe cũng chẳng được gì

những cử động co giật run rẩy

qua ánh mắt khóe miệng

đoán ra sám hối

hay tuyên ngôn

 

Ký ức câm đặc chậm chạp

dựng dậy vách đen sừng sững

sương mù tràn bờ

đứt những động mạch

hình nhân sáp nến

mắt rụi lửa đen

 

Bức tường cách âm đã cũ

và cả sự ù đặc hôm nay

dẫu có nhìn xuyên thấu

càng gọi lại càng xa

 

Nhìn nhau

Em và tôi

vùn vụt trôi

lay đập khoảng không trước mặt.
