Explication du Dr Ramesh Chandra Mukhopadhyaya
Qu'est-ce qu'une page de livre ? Un simple paysage de lettres. Tel
Hourra ! Accueillons-le.

A thousand dharmas come back to one, where does one go?
A ZEN KOAN

A page
Opens territories of letters
Forests and mountains
Rivers and lakes
Roads of letters
Holding the book
I
I am a letter
The letter strokes are my rhythmic breath
My upturning palms
My slash of black hair
My yellow skin
The light on the page
Reduces the world
And me
Into one.
(Translated from Vietnamese by Nhat-Lang Le & Susan Blanshard)
Explication:
What is a page of a book? A territory of letters. But is not the endless multiverse a voluminous book where the world of eye and ears that we half perceive and half create is merely a page. There are mystics who intuit that the world has been created by some primordial sound. But Derrida has put writing above speech. And no doubt that the world we perceive with its difference and deference is a vast arche writing. When Shakespeare read books in running brooks he looked upon the existence as writing.
And what does the poet find in the page that he opens at random of the existence? Forests and mountains, rivers and lakes. What are they----the rivers and lakes etc? They are but roads of letters. They are ways leading from one place to another.
When the poet opens a page in the vast book of the contingent existence. He is surely an entity who does not belong to the contingent existence or Rupaloka viz the world of forms. But lo! Holding the book the poet becomes a letter in the book itself. The observerbecomes a part of the thing observed. The reader becomes the part of the book that he reads. This is reader’s aesthetics. The poet is born into the world which is a page in a book. The poet exclaims
The letter strokes are my rhythmic breath
My upturning palms
My slash of black hair
My yellow skin
The intangible breath has been transformed into a visual imagery. Here is a myth dwelling on how the mind bodies forth. Or in other words it describes how body is born of a mind in contact with the page embodying creation which is a part of a vast book.
What could achieve the miracle? The light on the page reduced the poet and the world into one.
Here is a myth that adds flesh to the theory of Dependant Origination. No one cause can be responsible for any event whatever. There must be causes and conditions responsible for any event to take place. Here the event is the birth of the poet in the contingent world of ours. The reading mind of the poet the book of the contingent existence and the light for reading the book are the conditions which together have brought forth the birth of the poet.
Hurrah! Let us welcome him

Tĩnh lặng
Muôn pháp về một, một đi về đâu?
CÔNG ÁN THIỀN
1.
